ABOUT TOUR

On Wednesday, 29 October 2025, at 9 p.m., the Travacò Siccomario Library will inaugurate “Cinema per l’Ambiente” (Cinema for the Environment), a film festival dedicated to the profound relationship between humans and nature.

The highlight will be the screening of a film that tells an intense story of resistance and compassion, where humans and animals share the same destiny. In a context of fear, economic power and strict rules, a group of people are committed to protecting life and supporting a different idea of freedom, until their last breath. The event is organised under the patronage of the Municipality and the Travacò Siccomario Library and in collaboration with the Associazione Progetto Cuori Liberi Odv, Vitadacani and Rete dei Santuari.

Terrarium and B&B Due Fiumi 1908: supporters of environmental culture

The exhibition is sponsored by Terrarium and B&B Due Fiumi 1908, which promote cultural initiatives related to art, the environment and social commitment, strengthening the network of partners that raise awareness of respect for nature. Terrarium, in particular, has distinguished itself for its ethical and artistic commitment to environmental issues, promoting artist residencies and exhibitions that explore the conflict between man and nature.

The roots of the project

The initiative stems from the mobilisation in Travacò Siccomario against the construction of an intensive poultry farm in the area. The “STOP Allevamento – Travacò Siccomario” Committee, made up of citizens and environmental and animal rights associations, has promoted this battle to protect health, the environment and quality of life. The film festival is part of this process of raising awareness and reflection to promote harmonious coexistence between humans and nature and to support responsible choices in combating environmental risks.

The debate with experts

After the screening, Roberto Manelli, spokesperson for Progetto Cuori Liberi, and Sara D’Angelo, founder of Vitadacani and president of the Rete dei Santuari, will lead a discussion with the audience. The meeting will be an opportunity to explore the ethical and environmental issues raised by the film, enhancing the cinematic experience with an open and participatory discussion.
