Terrarium is part of the national arts network MA/DONNE and is proud to present its fourth edition, dedicated to the theme of manipulation under the slogan ‘Game Over, Trickster!’, supporting a series of artistic events with a strong cultural impact and an important message for contemporary society.
Terrarium’s multidisciplinary arts hub thus incorporates initiatives across the country into its activities, bringing art to life and sharing it with the public.
The opening event at Villa Cernigliaro
On 8 March 2026, the flagship opening will take place at Villa Cernigliaro in Sordevolo (BI), showcasing twenty contemporary artists curated by seven curators. The 2026 edition is curated by Chicca Benedetto, Carlotta Cernigliaro, Victoria Chapman, Caterina Gualco, Maria Rosa Pividori, Lorena Smaniotto and Paola Zorzi.
The artists and their works
The participating artists present an extraordinary variety of works and performances, ranging from photography to painting, and from performance installations to sculpture. This diversity amplifies the message against manipulation, creating a powerful visual dialogue that dismantles deception and the traditional iconography of female victimhood.
A start to the MA/WOMEN cycle
Terrarium is proud to be part of this major group exhibition, which forms part of a wider series taking place in galleries and cultural centres across Italy, bringing together curators and artists in an aesthetic manifesto of resistance to manipulation.
